 My Drawings

These are my drawings, in both colored pencil and regular pencil, as  well as ink. I've been drawing for years, but I don't have a lot up here because I don't always record everything I do. I give a lot of my pictures away to people, usually as a gift or request. The rest of it is (mostly early work) is lost or forgotten.

It upsets me that these look so poor on my computer (probably because its old), and yet look perfectly clear on the laptop. If you also have a poor computer monitor and/or graphics card, and these pictures appear small and blurry/fuzzy, I reccomend following the links to the photo on Artscad, where it loads to full size clearly. In the ones I checked. I tried making the ones that I do not have uploaded bigger.

Some of these may load weird. Be patient. If that doesnt work, try scrolling up and down the page, or refreshing.

Black & White Pictures

These are pretty much all drawn in regular, standard #2 pencil. I've always just used regular HB lead, but as of late have been using different and darker pencils to make the pictures easier to see and much more professional-looking. I use both wooden pencils and mechanical lead pencils, and I don't seem to have any trouble switching between using the two, as I know some people do. Just so it has a decent point I can work with it I guess.

Ink

Working with ink is terrifying. When you're a perfectionist that spends as long on a piece as I do, a single stray black line can ruin hours of work. Sure, you can always scratch it off or pray that no one notices... but it's still disheartening. I'm still very new to this, which makes it all the more frightening. It takes a lot of control and coorperation from the pens to do this. I started with some generic cartridge calligraphy pens, which seem to be the easiest to do shading with since they don't work half of the time. They're good for travel as well. I also have a pen that needs an inkwell. In all honesty, sitting me next to an open jar of spillable ink is a horrible idea, but it's great for doing darks because you have more control over the ink. Even when the pen is "cooperating," I'm still a bit paranoid. I have notecards that I'll make many, many hatch-marks on before I start, or I'll even draw parts of the drawing that I'm fearful of messing up, as shown here and here.

As I've said, I'm very new to this. I started working with pens & ink in early July 2010. I'm loving the results, as well as the process.

Expect to see more than just Björk very soon.. ;)

Scout (12-25-09)

This is a drawing I drew for a family friend of his dog, Scout. 12-25-09.  (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7ZSQE9 or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2ji96f )

Snickers (9-3-09)

This is a drawing I drew for a sixth grade teacher at my school of her dog, Snickers. You can find the drawing process of this picture under the "Processes Tab,"  under the "Black & White" subtitle thingy. 9-3-09.  (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7VSTER or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jiauy )

Grandchildren Commission (12-25-08)

This is a copy of a picture I drew for my middleschool science teacher. She gave it to her mother for Christmas. Our scanner isn't very good and didnt do the picture much justice. 12-25-08. (For a better look, go to  )

Family Guy (8-25-08)

This is a drawing  (For a better look, go to  )

Emily and Mikey (7-08-08)

This is a drawing of my cousin's baby, Emily, and my aunt & uncle's dog (peekapoo), Mikey. The wood grain was pretty easy to do. The hardest part was making sure they were in the right spots/size in relation to the box and eachother and that the box fit in the picture right. Our scanner isn't very good and didnt do the picture much justice. 7-8-08. (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MLV8H or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jufsn )

Two Tigers (5-28-08)

A favorite of many, this is a copy of a white and orange tiger couple that I drew. Our scanner isn't very good and didn't do the picture much justice, especially since it was still in my sketch pad at the time. I have yet to take it out of the sketch pad because many people like to see it, and the sketch pad is always with me (although I do plan on replacing it this schoolyear, so I will eventually upload a better pic before I stash it away in my portfolio for forever). And because I'm lazy. Very lazy. 5-28-08. (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MM45P )

Spartan Soldier Draft (4-13-08)

This is my draft for the Greek Culture poster (under Pastels, in my "My Paintings" tab). 4-13-08. (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7SN3UM )

Golden Retriever (8-4-08)

A copy of a golden retriever I drew. (I sorta... have a thing for golden retrievers...) Our scanner isnt very good and didnt do the picture much justice. 8-4-08  (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MLR3G or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jg2am )

Golden Retriever (2-14-08)

A copy of a golden retriever I drew. It was displayed in the school's '08 Arts Festival. Our scanner isn't very good and didnt do the picture much justice. 2-14-08.    (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MLQQC or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jvbhh )

Hunter (2007)

This is a copy of a drawing of my cat, Hunter, I drew sometime in 2006-07. He was about two months old in the picture. I was going through some old things and found this so I just signed and dated the picture before I uploaded it. 2007. (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7STRX9 or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jdzb5 )

Lioness (1-1-07)

A copy of a lioness I drew. I think I got this one out of a drawing book. I smeared it in some places. Our scanner isnt very good and didnt do the picture much justice. 1-1-07.    (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MLQNX or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2juh64 )

Earlier Work

This is where I'm putting my earlier work. It's not as good but it's acceptable especially considerring the age I was at at the time. I have so much more than this too, this is all that I have recorded though.

All of this stuff is from about age 10 and lower. Not all of it is dated/can have a date assigned to it.

As I'm become increasingly limited on my Artscad, I'll be putting the links to view them better from my DeviantART. (PS: I created a DeviantART with my friends pretty much for my friends, so I'm not responsible for what disturbing thing you may learn about me if you read my comments/journal entries.)

Tiger

A tiger I drew sometime in fifth grade. Sorry if it looks bad, our scanner is crap and I did this a while ago on notebook paper. Circa Jan-March '06(?). (For a better look, go to http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/art/5th-Grade-Tiger-155770795 )

Gazelle

A gazelle I drew sometime around fourth grade. Sorry if it looks bad, our scanner is crap and I did this years ago. 6-16-05.(For a better look, go to http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/art/Gazelle-6-16-05-155771882 )

Shetland Pony

A shetland pony I did sometime around fourth grade. Sorry if it looks bad, our scanner is crap and I did this years ago. 6-12-05. (For a better look, go to http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/art/Shetland-Pony-6-12-05-155772159 )

Demetrius the Gorilla

A copy of a gorilla I drew sometime around fourth grade that we later named Demetrius. Sorry if it looks bad, our scanner is crap and I did this years ago. 6-5-05. (For a better look, go to http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/art/Demetrius-the-Gorilla-6-5-05-155773097 )

Colored Pictures

I rarely color my pictures, unless it's for a poster for school or something, and even at that I don't color all of them and the ones I do color aren't colored that vibrantly. I do color things that I think would probably look best in color though, or things that were requested to be colored. I tend to use Koh-I-Noor Woodless colored pencils and Col-Erase colored pencils, but I have a buttload of Prismacolor ones I'll use occasionally.

Actual colors may vary, depending on your monitor settings.

Spiderman (6-23-08)

A copy of a picture of spiderman I drew for a friend. Done in Col-Erase colored pencils on black paper. There was a paper flaw (a spot that had poor tooth) on his shoulder and it wouldnt hold any color, so I had to put a dab of paint on it. Our scanner isn't very good and didnt do the picture much justice (I know I say that a lot, but I really mean it this time). I have the step-by-step pictures of this on my cellphone but I'm too stupid to know how to get them off. 6-23-08.  (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7MM4CV or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jce86 )

Spiderman (6-23-09)

A copy of a picture of spiderman I drew for a friend. Done in Col-Erase colored pencils on black paper. This scanned weird, and it's just weird because you can only really see the detail when you hold it under light. I tried  to fix that but it didn't work very well. 6-23-09.  (For a better look, go to http://artscad.com/A.nsf/Opra/SRVV-7UVU3N or http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jqok1 )

Taylor Electric-Acoustic Guitar (12-31-08)

This is a copy of a drawing of a Taylor Elecoustic guitar that I drew for my sister, Lesley. It sorta resembles the guitar that she got for Christmas that year, only hers is electric. And an imitation Fender. It was originally completely done in pencil but I tinted the base and scratch guard of the guitar blue with Koh-I-Noor Woodless Colored Pencils. Our scanner isn't very good and didnt't do the picture much justice. 12-31-08.
