About Me

General

I was born in 1995. I have a large family, and many pets. I set up this website out of boredom, and at an attempt to showcase some of my pictures with a little more "artistic freedom," to make it easier to show some friends, family, and the curious some of my work. And, it doesn't involve using a site designed to sell/buy artwork (but if you're willing to pay for a picture of a cross-eyed muffin screaming and running away from some random thing I will be more than willing to take your money), so I feel a little less like I'm just a lump for being more of a gallery.

On May 17th, my "Leaves" painting won 1st place at the 2010 14th Congressional District Art Show.

On May 9th, my "Rocky" painting won 2nd place at the 2011 14th Congressional District Art Show.

There are so many sides of me (most of them contradicting), but I don't think you'd care to see them all (as if I could list them), so I just split it into two basic categories:

Artistically

I have always shown an interest in drawing. Even at two years old, I was drawing on everything I could get my hands on. I would draw on my walls with crayons and then when my mother would wash it off, I would just draw it again. I have even colored out dog's head purple! I was content as long as I had paper and something to write with.

My early work (2-5) consisted mainly of cats and snowmen (Don't ask. Just don't.). Then, I drew monkeys for a while (5-10). From there, I've just been drawing animals in general, and then in the past couple years I've broadened my horizons a bit. I've been drawing more people (usually on request) and just random things. I have been drawing on a professional level for several years, preffering to draw realism (as I'm a bit of a realist in thought as well). It's easiest for me to draw things when I have a reference, for I don't have the best memory, and my creativity's been lacking lately, but I do often draw things from thought (usually just random things during class, i.e. The Muffin Man).

I'm pretty much self-taught I guess. I did buy the occasional how-to book. The only art classes I've taken where the ones I was required to by the school.

People tend to remember me best for my artistic abilities (that, and the fact that Im just weird). I always like to incorporate drawings into my school work, because it's a big part of who I am, and I just learn best that way. In doing this though, people tend to overlook the hard work I spent on the project itself, as opposed to the half-hour drawing that came naturally to me. It irritates me sometimes, but I don't at all mean it to sound as if I'm complaining.  I'm very proud of my abilities, but I would like to think that as a person I'm really so much more than just some artistically gifted freak.

Personally

Personally, I'm an enigma (and a bit of a cynic). Because of that, I'm not the easiest person to understand, or get along with for that matter. I don't even know how to describe myself. For example...

When I'm with my friends, I'm weird and obnoxious. We joke around and tease eachother, we dance behind people and act retarded, and we just don't care.

When I'm alone, I am much quiter and withdrawn. I'm introspective, self-conscious, and often in a zoned-out daze or day dream. I'm also actually capable of having a mature conversation.

But what do you care? Just enjoy the pretty pictures!

Commissions/Contact Me

I've been really busy with highschool recently, but as of late I'm officially open for commissions. I'm already pretty backed up with projects, but I'd be more than willing to paint for the patient-minded.

If for some dire reason you must get in touch with me, you can drop me a note on my DeviantART, http://stephieeee13445.deviantart.com/ or e-mail me. As of right now, my e-mail won't be listed here (though I do believe that it is listed under my DA Info). I don't have time to commission for complete strangers at the moment.

[Disclaimer: I made my DA for my friends. Unlike this website where I *try* to be professional, on DA I am myself and uncensored. I am a teenager. A few of my favorite words are four-lettered. I also have some "questionable material" there as well that I do not have on here.]
